Rogelio arrives in the El Milagro neighborhood on the run from a dangerous criminal and takes refuge inside the parish church, where he is mistaken for the new seminarian. Taking advantage of the confusion and fearing for his life, Rogelio plays along, but when he tries to escape, he realizes that not only is it impossible, but he no longer wants to leave.
